Tracheid dimensions of Norway spruce in uneven-aged stands

نویسندگان

چکیده

Tracheid length and width patterns from pith to bark at a height of 0.6 m in uneven-aged Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) trees were studied. Identification the main factors comparison with even-aged stands also carried out. Ninety-six sampled experimental southern Finland. The material encompassed variation tracheid properties early years silvicultural maturity, i.e., corewood outerwood up cambial age 111 years. Data 39 utilized for comparison. Models fitted data indicated that annual ring widths did not influence mean dimensions but latewood proportion had significant on dimensions. Tracheids slightly wider longer base stem similar diameter, age, number.

Nutrient Dynamics and Decomposition rate of Norway Spruce Needles in Stråsan and Lajim stands

Climate changes due to changes in a habitat leads to differences in the rate of decomposition and nutrient dynamics of leaflitters, which has many effects on the controlling factors of the decomposition process. In the present study, the rate of decomposition and nutrient dynamics of Norway spruce was evaluated for 363 days in the two forestation sites in the natural and foreign habitats, ...

Estimating tree mortality of Norway spruce stands with neural networks

Within forest growth modeling LOGIT models are used to predict individual tree mortality. In this paper we present, Multi-Layer Perceptron, Learning Vector Quantization and Cascade Correlation networks as different formalisms for mortality predictions. The data set for parameterizing the LOGIT model and training the different neural network types comes from the Austrian National Forest Inventor...

Comparison of Log Quality from Even-Aged and Uneven-Aged Loblolly Pine Stands in South Arkansas

Log grade, number of knots, and log volume of the first two logs, as well as form class of the butt log, were compared across three broad sawtimber categories among even-aged plantations, even-aged natural stands, and uneven-aged natural stayMs of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) in Ashley County, AR. Trees from unevenaged stands had butt logs of better log grade than even-aged plantations, parti...

Evaluating of Different Height-Diameter Nonlinear Models for Hornbeam in Uneven-Aged Stands (Case Study: Golestan Rezaeian Forest)

Projection of stand development over time relies on accurate height-diameter functions. In this study, we evaluated the capability of 43 nonlinear models to estimate hornbeam heights in a portion Rezaeian experimental forest in Gorgan, Golestan province. We applied a systematic random sampling method to collect field data within a 150×200 meter network (3.33% intensity). It resulted in 200 circ...
